Live breast cancer surgery
The medical sector often acts as a pioneer when it comes to new technologies and methods of treatment. We are therefore particularly pleased that our augmented reality solution remAid is being used by the Portuguese Champalimaud Foundation for location-independent collaboration. In 2022 and 2023, remAid was already used for live operations at the congresses of the Spanish Association of Breast Surgeons. In 2023, the attending physician was supported directly from the stage during breast surgery with holograms of the tumour location in the body. Medical images on the virtual whiteboard as well as pointers and pins helped with communication between the stage and the operating theater. We are delighted that we can make a significant contribution to medical care with our augmented reality solution remAid.
